RECOMMENDATIONS CRITICAL TO PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Town Planner/ Economic Development Planner
Consider the hire of a Town Planner with community & economic development experience to initiate the development and implementation of a local economic development program.
Economic Development Website
Consider establishing an Economic Development page on towns official website. Content on page to be populated with Town’s vision for economic development, contact information, services & resources, demographic information & economic development indicators, various studies, reports, project and meetings. Initiate page and build content overtime.
Master Plan
Consider updating the community’s Comprehensive Plan or Master Plan generally 5-7 yr life span. Those communities that do not have a plan should consider developing one. A Master Plan is a blueprint or vision on how a community wants to proceed with managing and planning for growth and development under zoning, land use, housing, environment, open space, economic development, transportation, and capital facilities etc.
