MATTHEW DYER
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION PLANNER
Matt Dyer holds the position of Senior Transportation Planner, focusing on solutions for climate adaptation and resilience. His work spans various projects, including Long Range Transportation Plans, Transportation Improvement Programs, Bicycle and Pedestrian Studies, and Public Participation Plans. Additionally, he collaborates with the Comprehensive Planning and Sustainability Office on initiatives such as Master Plans and Open Space and Recreation Plans.
Before joining the Old Colony Planning Council, Matt served as an Urban Forester with the Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Greening the Gateway Cities Program. In this role, he led efforts to increase tree canopy cover in environmental justice neighborhoods, aiming to reduce energy consumption, enhance community health, and improve stormwater management. Matt also contributes to protecting farmland across the Commonwealth through his work with a private company, where he reviews Agricultural Preservation Restrictions.
Beyond his professional engagements, Matt’s dedication to community service is evident through his four-year tenure as a Selectman for the Town of Hanson. During this time, he actively contributed to the Energy Committee, Indian Head River Restoration Committee, and Wage and Personnel initiatives.
Matt’s academic background includes a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Eco-Tourism, with a minor in Environmental Law and Policy.
