OCPC held its 5th Annual Summit on Tuesday, December 2nd at the Jones River Trading Post in Kingston, welcoming its biggest turnout yet with 80 attendees, including Elected Officials, Council members, community partners, and OCPC staff. First envisioned in 2020 by then Council President Christine Joy, the Summit has grown from a showcase of OCPC’s work into a regional celebration, highlighting shared accomplishments and strengthening collaboration across communities.

In her opening remarks, OCPC President Becky Coletta recognized the organization’s expanding impact, increased technical assistance requests, and major competitive grant successes that are supporting infrastructure, economic development, transportation, and environmental resilience throughout the region. She emphasized OCPC’s responsiveness, forward-thinking approach, and strong committee partnerships.

This day also marked Executive Director Mary Waldron’s sixth year of leadership. During this time, staff has grown from 15 to 26, reflecting both the organization’s evolution and its commitment to service. OCPC also honored the legacy of past remarkable individuals, Past Executive Director, Dan Crane, Council Members Eldon Moreira and Frank Staffier, and most recently staff member Raymond Guarino, whose contributions continue to shape the organization’s values and direction.

The most special part of the night was celebrating this year’s IMPACT Awardees who were celebrated for their years of service and dedication, and to organizations that have shown the initiative and enthusiasm towards making a difference in our communities and region. The night concluded with honoring Lee Hartmann, Director of Planning & Development for the Town of Plymouth, for his over 34 years of service to the Old Colony Planning Council and the immeasurable impact he has had on the Town of Plymouth and OCPC region. Lee’s departure will be deeply felt. His work ethic, commitment, and unwavering dedication have set a standard that we can only hope our Council and staff will continue to model in the years ahead.
