Abington Housing Production Plan
OCPC is excited to announce that we are working in partnership with the Town of Abington to update their 2019 Housing Production Plan(HPP)! An HPP is a strategic tool to help communities proactively understand and manage their housing needs, set goals and guidelines for future development. The updated plan will set the direction for housing planning and policy in our community for the next five years. For more information on HPPs and how OCPC supports towns.
What is a Housing Production Plan?
A Housing Production Plan helps communities identify housing goals, strategies, and resources to meet the needs of residents while promoting affordability and economic growth. Residents and stakeholders in the Town of Abington participate in this process by completing the HPP Survey to identify which housing goals, strategies, and resources should be prioritized over the next five years.
What is OCPC's role?
OCPC is hired by the town of Abington to update their HPP which was last done in 2019. This is a lengthy process that requires research, updating data and maps, and most importantly community engagement. We follow the state’s guidelines to get your town’s plans approved.
Community engagement includes a survey, tabling, and public meetings.
