Comprehensive Planning
Within Comprehensive Planning it is our goal to create a welcoming sense of place with diverse housing options, connectivity, vibrant spaces, amenities and jobs that support a robust economy. This work is accomplished through the following plans and strategies: zoning and policy, housing production plans, age friendly communities, placemaking, master planning, public participation, grant writing and management. Sustainability
Sustainability planning works to meet the current needs of all people and the natural environment without compromising the ability to meet futured needs of both. Sustainability planning projects and areas of expertise include: hazard and vulnerability planning, green communities, open space and recreation, climate action, water resource planning, environmental justice. Community and Master Planning
OCPC’s Comprehensive Planning team provides a range of technical assistance to towns and communities to update their Master Plans (sometimes also called a comprehensive or community plan).
Hanson Master Plan
Hanson is working with OCPC to update their Master Plan. Mass General Law states that a plan “shall be a statement, through text, maps, illustrations, or other forms of communication that is designed to provide a basis for decision making regarding the long term physical development of the municipality…”
East Bridgewater Master Plan
East Bridgewater is working with OCPC to update their Master Plan. Mass General Law states that a plan “shall be a statement, through text, maps, illustrations, or other forms of communication that is designed to provide a basis for decision making regarding the long term physical development of the municipality…”
Regional Water Plan
Old Colony Planning Council (OCPC) received an Economic Development Administration Award in the amount of $470,000 to match a total project cost for a Regional Water Plan of $940,000.
