The planning and outreach strategy used to develop plans and policies has three tiers:
Invitees to Listening Sessions include a diverse set of community stakeholders from municipal departments, local businesses, non-government entities, and local interest groups and those groups from abutting communities are also invited to participate.
WHY YOU SHOULD PARTICIPATE
The Public Outreach Strategy was designed to involve the public in the planning process. The purpose of public outreach and stakeholder involvement is to:
- Generate public interest in planning.
- Accommodate special populations identified in the Town.
- Solicit public input.
- Engage local stakeholders.
- Create opportunities for the public and local stakeholders to be actively involved in the planning process.

CURRENT PUBLIC COMMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Draft FFY 2025-2029 Transportation Improvement Project (TIP) Amendment 4:
Amendment 4 proposes to remove Project 609052 – Intersection Improvements at Centre Street (Route 123) and Plymouth Street in Brockton from programming in FFY 2025, as it will not be ready for advertisement this year. The project has been proposed for programming in FFY 2026 in the Draft FFY 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program.
Draft FFY 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP):
The Draft Old Colony FFY 2026-2030 includes highway and transit projects proposed for funding over the five-year period. The TIP includes a total of $298.7 Million for 17 highway and intersection projects and 4 bridge projects, and $78.3 Million in Brockton Area Transit Authority (BAT) capital investments and operational assistance.
Draft Old Colony Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Regional Comprehensive Safety (Vision Zero) Action Plan:
The Draft Old Colony SS4A Vision Zero Action Plan was developed through $400,000 ($320,000 in federal USDOT dollars and $80,000 in local MassDOT matching dollars) Safe Streets for All Discretional Grant awarded to Old Colony Planning Council. The Plan identifies a high-injury network throughout the region and identifies priority locations for safety improvements in the 17 Old Colony Planning Council communities.
