Volunteer Ombudsman Program
About the Program
Ombudsman volunteers routinely visit their assigned assisted living residences, nursing or rest home, meeting with residents and working to resolve the issues affecting the quality of their care at the home.
After Ombudsman certification training, you will routinely visit your assigned home as directed by the Program director, monitoring conditions and providing advocacy support, the day and time you visit is flexible. Ombudsmen meet individually with residents, listening to their concerns and addressing issues affecting the resident’s quality of care with staff.
How to Get Involved
All applicants need to complete a Criminal Offender (CORI) background check and be interviewed by a local Ombudsman Director.
