OCPC Grantology
Old Colony Planning Council is excited to introduce a new initiative called “OCPC Grantology: Navigating the World of Funding”. OCPC Grantology was designed to identify, educate, and assist our 17 Communities, plus the additional 6 Area Agency on Aging Communities. We have heard your concerns and requests for more resources as they may not have been easy to get to. Through the support of the Council we were able to hire a Grants specialist, Paul Umano, who has 7+ years of experience.
With the help of Paul Umano, we are determined to raise the bar in services and resources we can bring to our communities. In his previous role, Paul was able to secure funding through multiple avenues such as Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), RAISE, SMART, and Thriving Communities programs.
While OCPC Grantology is in the initial stages of development, Paul has already been successful in submitting grants and in helping many members of our communities in the few short months he has been with us. We look forward to creating more opportunities for our communities as this will be a monthly series to share information and knowledge.

OCPC introduced a new initiative earlier this year designed to assist communities in our district with expertise surrounding grants and available funding opportunities. In that effort, OCPC launched the “Grantology” webinar series, led by OCPC “Grants Specialist” Paul Umano, who provides educational content that helps towns navigate the many programs and resources available to them.
In a partnership with OCPC’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee, Paul will be hosting a special edition of the Grantology Series that focuses specifically on grants and programming relative to economic development. A special webinar will be held on Monday, October 28th at 1:00PM which is free to all.
We encourage you to watch the recorded webinar, as well as listen to past Grantology sessions which cover topics such as Community One Stop for Growth, understanding merit criteria, navigating terminology, Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A), green energy grants, access to resources, and more!
